our history
Sofiaman has been a family business since the early days. It started with a man and a pyjama. He continued with another man – and another – and many pajamas. Today we are all those people with experience in thinking and creating the sleepwear and homewear you need to feel good. Or better.
1993
Teodora Mihailiasa establishes the first collaboration with a production workshop and lays the foundations of the Sofiaman company in Bacău.
1996
Together with her husband Mihai, she moved from Bacău to her native village of Șoimarești, Neamț county, and opened her first own workshop for making cotton pajamas.
It all started with 4 sewing machines, a Dacia 1300 and a lot of confidence in what will follow.
1999
Mihaela, daughter of Teodora and Florin Cucu, joins the Sofiaman family. The development and expansion of the brand at the national level begins.
2003

2006
The first Sofiaman store is opened in Iasi. A period of expansion of the store network follows.
2008
Following an investment of approximately €1 million, Sofiaman moves its production activity to the new factory in Târgu Neamț, where the head office is also located. The production capacity increased by 3X, the products are found nationwide in more than 150 partner stores, and the number of Sofiaman boutiques increases by 6 more units.
2014
The first products designed to open a new product category in the market appear: HOME CLOTHES for the whole family.
Since 2014, the brand has been constantly evolving, developing several clothing categories that focus on helping people enjoy their free time and feel more comfort and rest in their lives. The first products made from botanical fibers appear: Modal (beech).
2022
Sofiaman opens the most beautiful store in Timisoara, award-winning store atRomanian Design Week 2023 edition
